HYDRO-SEEDING

Do you want a high quality lawn without the work and cost of laying sod?

Hydro seeding is the answer. Hydro seeding is a fast, cost-effective way to have a new lawn. The cost to have your lawn hydro seeded can be less than ¼ of the cost of using sod, depending on the size of the area that needs to be hydro seeded. In a few weeks you will have a beautiful lawn, with no need to worry if the sod will take. Hydro seeding also eliminates the backbreaking dirty job of laying sod by hand.

What is hydro seeding?

It is a process of mixing seed, fertilizer, and paper fiber-mulch with water in correct proportions inside a tank, then spraying the mixture onto designated lawn areas. Hydro seeding can be used in new construction projects as well as replacing an old expired lawn. Hydro seeding is a fast and easy alternative to sodding. You can have a beautiful, healthy, durable lawn at a fraction of the cost of sodding. Hydro seeding is widely used in the residential market in
British Columbia, Ontario, and in the USA. In fact, because of the overwhelming success in the United States, sod farms have become virtually obsolete in some states.
The popularity of hydro seeding in Canada is skyrocketing. Customers notice that you spray it on, and before you know it, a beautiful, more durable lush lawn is growing.
There are reasons hydro seeding works so well. The seed is suspended in nutrient rich slurry. The contact of the seed with the water in the machine triggers the germination cycle. The mulch layer seals in the moisture, holds the soil in place and acts like a mini-greenhouse. The seed is at an ideal depth for good results. The conditions are right to produce a lush green lawn in a very short time.

After hydro seeding, your property will have a nice green appearance from the mulch in the spray mix. The grass should begin to come up in 5 to 7 days depending on soil temperatures and moisture. Your lawn should be ready to mow in 3 to 4 weeks.

Hydro seeding provides flexibility for homeowners needing different varieties of seed while at the same time being completely environmentally friendly.

Water needed for planting 5000 ft2 of lawn
                                                                              Sod                              Hydro-Seeding
Total water needed                                         20,160 gallons                       6300 Gallons
Water flow per minute                                        14 Gallons                            14 Gallons
Required watering time                                    1440 minutes                        450 Minutes
                                                                          (24 Hrs)                              (7.5 Hrs)

In order to produce maximum germination we suggest watering 15 minutes, 3 times per day for 10 days. Cut down on watering if it rains. The objective is to keep the soil humid for at least 10 days.
